Simplicity Simplicity Simplicity (Wrong Option)

Sometimes when making music the simplest melodies can be the best ones. When you have a goal the best thing you can do is start. The more you procrastinate the longer it takes to finish that project and accomplish a goal.  My song "Wrong Option" was made before I even had a computer. Below you can see my old software for music editing.  Even though I didn't have all the tools needed to make my music perfect, I still decided to just start and then figure it out.

"Wrong Option" utilized simple and memorable chords to draw in the listeners attention.  It also used only 3 instruments as to not overcomplicate the sound, and make it easy to follow. The song also used no vocal layering to get the most raw and down to earth vocal. Sometimes within a song, if you want to draw out the most emotion, less editing and melodic extras in the song can add to the overall musicality of the piece.  I am not saying don't edit your music and add extras to enhance your song; what I'm saying is depending on the type of sound you want and the emotions you want to draw, sometimes simple, memorable, and raw sounds can be the best for your music. Less can be more. Taking things away can sometimes make your music more understandable and relatable. The best questions to ask yourself when adding elements to your song are: what kind of sounds am I looking for, does this element give me that, and do I need this or is it just filler. Music, in this sense, is a lot like writing. Sometimes less can be more powerful, you don't always need those extra fancy elements to get the best sound.
